Volleyball: A History of Conquests!

Volleyball team that inspires us to believe in future generations
Águia Sistemas has a serious social responsibility policy. That is why, since 2005, it has been supporting the men’s volleyball base categories in the city of Ponta Grossa, in Paraná, where the corporation’s headquarters are located. In these 16 years, more than a thousand young people have already been assisted by the project, led by coach and professor Dalmo José de Souza, one of the most respected professionals in this modality in all of Paraná. Among other things, he was coach of the Ponta Grossa team, of the Paraná national team and assistant coach of the Brazilian children’s team. Titles are many. Eight-time club state champion, five-time champion of the Youth Games and School Games of Paraná, two-time Brazilian club champion and South American national team champion. Today all this experience is being shared with young athletes from Ponta Grossa.
“Thanks to Águia Sistemas sponsorship, we managed to structure our volleyball teams. We have training and game uniforms, the opportunity to participate in more competitions, with the cost of transport, food and federation fees”, says Dalmo de Souza. “This all served as a great motivational factor for the athletes in the youth categories to evolve their performances over time, bringing several titles to Ponta Grossa”, concludes the professor.
Among the achievements of the project’s volleyball players, we can highlight 15 (yes, FIFTEEN!) titles in the Paraná Volleyball League over the last 16 years. The boys were also eight times school champions of the state, six times state champions of the Paranaense Volleyball Federation, six times champions of the Paraná Youth Games and three times Brazilian club champions, in addition to winning the national school championship once.
Several talents ended up being revealed for national volleyball (one of the strongest in the world), such as João Davi Horst Junior, Alex Schemberger and Lucas Traple, all with passage through the base categories of the Brazilian national team.
In 2020, women’s volleyball and sand volleyball, both male and female, entered the project. The fruits came the following year. Now in 2021, Ponta Grossa was champion of women’s volleyball at the Paraná Youth Games . The men’s team was also champion. The sand volleyball teams had a good evolution and promise good results in the future.
It is important to point out that the project also has the support of the City Hall of Ponta Grossa.
But none of this would have been possible without the help of Águia Sistemas and the dedication of Dalmo José de Souza. The coach and teacher of the volleyball base categories from Ponta Grossa also gained support from Águia for the Paranaense Association of Chronic Renal Patients , of which he is a member. Among other things, the Association, with the help of the Ponta Grossa group, provides assistance to the poorest patients, with the donation of basic food baskets, supplements, medicines, crutches, walkers and wheelchairs, in addition to providing medical, dental and legal assistance. Professor Dalmo de Souza has also sought support for a survey carried out by the University of California, in San Francisco, in the United States, which has been developing studies to create an artificial kidney. The device will be able to put an end to hemodialysis and should drastically improve the quality of life of chronic kidney patients.
Águia Sistemas is always attentive to social needs. If you also want to help kidney patients, just become a member: Sociedade Brasileira de Nephrologia.
